Milo

Roti Prata

Washington D.C. - 2nd of July 2007

hey hey~!!!

cute squirrel at Washington was not scare of people. and it was eating human food, just like the seagulls in Wildwood. i hate those seagulls. they flock at low levels, in search of (human) food, scaring the hell outta me. these birds are about 3-5 times larger than the usual mynah in Singapore... their webbed feet and sturdy beak look like they are capable of tearing human flesh off my body.... Although the seagulls are considered as utter pest to me, the Americans are simply feeding them like their pets. it's especially worst when it's on the boardwalk teemed with food shops. having said all these, i must admit the fact that seagull pooed on me twice. =(

Back to the main topic, so here i am, having reached the capital of USA after a 3-hour bus ride departing from Wildwood, NJ. this is the cityscape, dominated by governmental buildings. i saw this Department of Agriculture building, and had a strong desire to work inside then. anyways, US' state buildings are very grandeur and rich in architectural flavour. i don't know how to call the style of it... neither colonial nor roman... or is it simply American?

Inside Museum of Air and Space.
Very interesting and captivating exhibits. there are many halls of exhibitions with various themes regarding aviation and space travel. There is one room which is about the Black Hole and the whole universe formation mystery. i found many things discussed in the room so familiar~ these are the stuff that i learned in that sick physic module~ i hate that module thoroughly. But it was only until that very day then I realized that it was indeed teaching me general knowledge...

this is the Hubble whatever space craft that i'd learnt in that mod... i have never thought that i am able to see the actual piece.

well, anything related to dae han min gu, i must take a photo of it... hee hee...

something of my field... hee hee the first weather pattern discovered.

the first helicopter that flew around the world... i looked sian in this pic...

their food court... actually, it is just a gigantic macdonald's that occupies the whole facade. and i have to tell u all this matter. the fast food prices in US are the same as in Singapore's. i mean numerically similar. that means even if i'm eating American fastfood, i'm paying 1.5times more than what i pay in my country...gosh... i thought i can have my favourite Mac everyday...

Outside the museum, with the beautiful flowers at the back~ on closer look, they look like chillies. hahaha click pic to have a larger view.

Chinatown~!!! but it's not as interesting and huge as Philly's... we grabbed a lady on the street to ask her if there's any restaurant that has nice Chinese food. and her answer was an immediate "No". hahaha so with that information, we just popped into a chinese restaurant and had dim sum... well, the food was below average, but still edible...

United States Capitol, i would say this is the most beautiful building in Washington D.C. as compared to the famous White House, it's far apart as heaven and earth. look below...

The famous White House, and look below, the house is divided from the touristy tourists (and maybe terrorists too) by steadfast railings. apart from us, there were many other Chinese tourists trying to appreciate this structure too...

of course must take photos with it lar~

well, an aunty silent-protesting outside the White House
read the chinese words on the board she's holding.

at a crossroad

Bank of America, that's where we deposit our sweat money

A snack stand. there are several stands like this that sell hotdogs, pretzels and drinks on the road side... i guess they're mainly serving the public servants working in this area. the vendors are all Asian Chinese. it's a strange scene, but it's kinda duplicative, or similar in the manner that the Indians monopolize the shops on the boardwalk in AC.

The Smithsonian Castle

Washington monument

time to go home~ that's our coach at the front...

Rio Grande, once again...

hey hey~~~

posting some pictures from my trip to rio grande with candy and yitsun on the 26th of June... bit outdated though, anyway, i took some photos with the lovely cats in Petsmart~!!!
remember i wrote about this big supermarket selling stuff just for pets in Rio Grande ? hahaha

this time round, the cats were pretty awake, but some are really dao~
like this one... this cat will diao me once my face gets close to it...

this one is cute... hehe s/he stood up just to take this photo with me~

gray kitty sleeping sweetly... wooo~

hammies~!!!

and more hammies~!!!

yummy yummy~ i dunno how does the famous "long queue" donut at Raffles City taste like, but dunkin's donuts are already delicious enuff to satisfy me~!!! hahah

surprisingly, i found Milo at ShopRite, a supermarket at rio grande. cool~~~ well, although almost all supermarket that i've been to have a section for Asian food, but none of them has Milo except for ShopRite~ hahaha. cool~

and this is a picture of me having a buy-1-get-1-free 4-piece fried chicken dinner with yitsun on the boardwalk... well, it's not that cheap, neither it is that delicious... can do lar~ anyway, it's been quite a while since i have fried chicken and french fries... ooo, and another announcement: after having eaten Cheng's Buffet for 6 times, i decided to quit it once and for all. hahahaha well, in fact, i'm simply too broke for a $6.41 meal... hahaha and i have to finish all the food at home before leaving Wildwood.

okayz~ that's all for now... i will write another blog about my recent Washington D.C. trip. pretty interesting and nice... cyz~!
